Following successful evaluation of the development year materials, the Centre for Research in Mathematics Education at the University of Nottingham are now recruiting colleges to take part in the Maths-for-life randomised controlled trial. This trial is supported by the Education Endowment Foundation.
Maths-for-Life consists of five key lessons alongside a professional development programme which have been designed to improve student’s GCSE Mathematics re-sit results. The resources have been developed by the University of Nottingham in conjunction with twenty lead teachers from colleges across the country to ensure that they are appropriate and effective for GCSE re-sit learners.
Applications are open to one, or two, teachers from colleges and the intervention will start in the next academic year. During this large-scale trial of resources there will be no charge to colleges that are taking part.
