Lynette Leith

Lynette’s FE career began twelve years ago when she joined Uxbridge College as a Lecturer in Hairdressing. She has since worked in a range of roles in a diverse set of sector areas; Health, Education, Foundation Learning, Engineering and Construction, Digital Technologies (Media and ICT) Business Studies, Travel & Tourism, Hair & Beauty and cross college English and maths.

Lynette wholeheartedly believes that curriculum should be inspiring, holistic and accessible to all learners and that her role as a Senior Leader is to make the short time that students have within further education count. She is passionate about creating curriculum and environments that are enriching and that strive for the excellence that staff and students deserve.

During her time in the sector she has driven improvements across all college provision types and is working extensively on T Level implementation with 16-18 education being her area of expertise.

Lynette remains rooted in the belief that students and staff are the heartbeat of FE and prides herself on being able to represent the voice of the learner.

With a personal and professional commitment to addressing underrepresentation, and inequality, Lynette feels that we have an opportunity and responsibility to avoid simply embedding E&D and therefore pulls from this to create a truly inclusive curriculum and culture that embraces diverse perspectives.
