Although the Covid-19 pandemic has seen the number of suspected terrorists arrested in the UK fall to the lowest level in almost a decade, hateful extremist have exploited the pandemic to sow division and undermine the social fabric of our country.
This has been done online and the pandemic has been used to engage in disinformation, fake news, conspiracy theories and extremist content.
Through a series of high-level keynotes and practical case studies, this online event will explore the key issues surrounding violent extremism. It explores crucial topics such as the most effective counter-extremism interventions, building resilience to extremism, community cohesion and countering online extremism. Organisations across policing, local and central government, public health and higher education will feature in the speaker line-up.
