Applications for Aspiring Senior Leaders Programme open

Applications are now open for the next four cohorts of the Education and Training Foundation (ETF) Aspiring Senior Leaders Programme. It is aimed at established middle leaders looking to progress to their first senior leadership role in the FE and Training sector.

The programme is delivered via two face-to-face seminars and two online workshops. The sessions will look at the opportunities and challenges facing the FE and Training sector, consider effective ways of managing organisational change, and build an understanding of the requirements of senior leadership roles. The closing seminar will focus on practice assessment, selection and interview activities designed to develop the techniques, awareness and confidence necessary for success in a senior recruitment process.

Each of the cohorts will be based in a different city and have a different start date:

  • Cohort one, based in London, will commence on Tuesday 4 October
  • Cohort two, based in Birmingham, will begin on Tuesday 1 November
  • Cohort three, based in Bristol, begins on Monday 5 December
  • Cohort four, based in Manchester, will begin on Wednesday 7 December.

Numbers are limited to ten places per cohort, with preference given to applicants who have completed the ETF’s Leading from the Middle course. Bookings can be made via the ETF booking site. The fee is £200 per delegate.

The programme is delivered on behalf of the ETF by FE Associates and is supported by the Department for Education. It is part of the ETF’s wider support for leadership in the FE and Training sector, which is helping to build a talent pipeline.
