Centres for Excellence in SEND to speak at the AoC SEND Conference

The Education and Training Foundation’s (ETF) Centres for Excellence in SEND (CfESEND) will be speaking at this year’s Association of Colleges (AoC) SEND Conference.

The annual conference will take place online across two mornings on 2 and 3 December. On the morning of 2 December at 11.05 am, attendees can hear from the three Centres for Excellence in SEND. The Centres offer expert support for leaders, managers and practitioners who wish to put learners with SEND at the centre of their organisation.

All three Centres (Derby College, Weston College and City College Norwich) are facilitating a breakout session titled ‘Sustaining resilience in ourselves and our teams as we collaboratively create our new normal in the Post 16 world.’

Attendees can hear about how they have worked with staff, learners and the wider community during the pandemic supporting wellbeing and resilience during changing times:

  • Derby College Group will share the impact of its Communities of Practice on defining resilience and five steps to self-care that we can all take away, enabling us all to maintain our inclusive curriculum focus.
  • Weston College will share its in-house ‘Wellbeing@Weston’ approach, developed to ensure both staff and students are supported and empowered to look after mental health and wellbeing through these challenging times.
  • City College Norwich will share how it is supporting its wider community to be creative and supportive, enabling employers to work with learners with SEND during the pandemic.
