The Centres for Excellence in Maths (CfEM) 2022 Live Conference will take place online across three full-day sessions on Friday 24 June, Wednesday 29 June and Friday 1 July. The event showcases the latest action research findings from colleagues involved in maths delivery across Further Education.
This year’s event will be of particular interest to practitioners who teach, support and lead level 2 maths. Speakers will include numerous practitioners who have recently completed their most recent cycles of action research reflecting on what has worked well. Attendees will also have the chance to participate in workshops and small group discussions and to connect with like-minded peers.
The schedule and themes will be:
Friday 24 June (9.45am–3.15pm tbc)
Teaching for Mastery: enabling students to develop fluency and understanding of key ideas and mathematical structure.
Wednesday 29 June (9.45am–2.45pm tbc)
Mathematical Resilience: helping learners overcome negative attitudes and the various ways in which teams and organisations have developed a culture in which everyone believes everyone can achieve.
Friday 1 July (9.45am–2.45pm tbc)
Responsive Teaching: helping teachers value and build on students’ prior learning and address individual needs.
Booking for the event will open in early May and will be via the CfEM CPD offer page on the ETF website.
The Centres for Excellence in Maths (CfEM) programme is funded by the Department for Education and has been running since 2018. For a taster of previous CfEM Live events, visit the 2020 event website or 2021 event website.
