Construction company Willmott Dixon offers T Level teachers a virtual placement

Construction company Willmott Dixon is offering T Level teachers across the country a virtual placement to enable them to benefit from the latest thinking, cutting edge industry insights and expertise in the sector.

The Group Industry Placement is for staff at colleges, schools, University Technical Colleges and independent training providers delivering or planning to offer T Levels in Construction.

Organised by the Education and Training Foundation (ETF), there are 30 places available to practitioners currently providing or due to launch T Levels in:

  • Building Services Engineering for Construction
  • Design, Surveying and Planning for Construction
  • Onsite Construction

Willmott Dixon staff will lead a range of sessions during the placement, which takes place online over two dates: 11 February and 18 February 2022, from 9am to 12.30pm.

The sessions will cover sustainability and the environment, social value and community engagement, health and safety, construction design, the future of construction technology, the various site roles involved in the sector including project management, and quantity surveying.

Danielle Haskings, Senior Social Value Manager, Willmott Dixon Construction, said:

“Having worked very closely with colleges delivering T Levels, it is clear that the qualification is well received. To maintain this success, it is vital that staff and tutors understand the practicalities of what is being taught as well as the opportunities and careers available to their students.

“For us as a business, the dynamic of the T Level qualification will allow us to grow our own talent and find the next generation of construction industry leaders. Alongside colleges, we are giving them the skills they need whilst they are learning to progress in their careers and lives.”

Tim Bevans, Director of Regional Engagement, the Education and Training Foundation, added: “This is a fantastic opportunity for practitioners delivering T Levels in Construction to hear first-hand from a leading UK employer about the latest skills they need from the next generation progressing into the industry.”
