Early bird offer for senior leaders’ programmes

Applications are now being accepted for the next cohorts of the Education and Training Foundation’s‘ Further Education Strategic Leadership’ and ‘Preparing for CEO’ programmes. Applications made by Friday 29 July 2022 will be eligible for an early bird offer on the course fees. Both programmes are delivered in partnership with the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford.

The Further Education Strategic Leadership Programme (FESLP) is for current Principals and CEOs in the Further Education and Training sector. Helping to build resilience and leadership capability, it aims to develop confident strategic thinkers who can work with complexity and ambiguity and with multiple stakeholders. Themes include engaging with the wider system and political environment, managing and changing institutional culture, building the senior team, and working collaboratively with the Board and its Chair. The programme includes a development centre.

The residential modules for cohort ten of the programme will take place at Oxford on 27 February–2 March 2023, 3–6 July 2023, and 27–30 November 2023.

The Preparing for CEO Programme is aimed at second tier leaders in FE who are preparing to step-up to the role of Principal or CEO in the next one to two years. It helps participants with articulating purpose and setting vision, thinking strategically for the long term, working with a complex network of stakeholders, and developing and leading a high-performing team.

The programme consists of a development centre, as well as three three-day residential modules at Saïd Business School’s dedicated executive education facilities at Egrove Park in Oxford and a digital learning module. Participants are supported by Oxford tutors and have the opportunity to apply their learning between modules.

The residential modules for cohort nine of the programme will take place at Oxford on 20–23 March 2023, 26–29 June 2023, and 20–23 November 2023.
