The Education and Training Foundation (ETF) has today (12 May 2021) released a final set of bite-size training modules for developing use of educational technology (EdTech) on the Enhance Digital Teaching Platform. The 23 modules complete the EdTech training offer mapped to the Digital Teaching Professional Framework (DTPF), the ETF’s national EdTech competency framework.
Launched in November 2018, the DTPF is now widely used by the sector. The framework provides a set of professional standards for technology-enhanced learning and aims to establish a common understanding of digital skills development across seven areas of activity:
Each of the seven elements includes competency statements at three levels of progression: Exploring (early stage), Adopting (intermediate) and Leading (advanced). Now all competencies on the DTPF are fully mapped to EdTech training on the Enhance Digital Teaching Platform. The full version of the framework is designed to be used by leaders, managers and HR professionals as a foundation for professional development plans.

“Today marks the culmination of over two years’ work to provide a full training offer mapped to our national EdTech competency framework, the Digital Teaching Professional Framework. The vision of the framework was to focus on teaching practice, not technology, and to develop a shared understanding of competency in use of digital technologies for teaching, learning and assessment. From the response of the sector to date, with over 50,000 EdTech modules completed on the Enhance Digital Teaching Platform, it is clear that this vision has been welcomed and I look forward to building on this progress to support flexible delivery and improved learner outcomes going forward.”
