ETF recognised with EFMD Silver Award for work with King's Business School

The Education and Training Foundation (ETF) is delighted to have earned an EFMD Excellence in Practice Silver Award for its work with King’s Business School, King’s College London, in delivering the T Level Professional Development (TLPD) Leadership programme.

EFMD Excellence in Practice (EiP) Awards recognise outstanding practice that demonstrates effective and impactful learning and development interventions between partner organisations. ETF and King’s Business School have been awarded in the ‘Ecosystem Development’ category, recognising the far-reaching impact of the TLPD Leadership programme in preparing leaders and their organisations across England to deliver T Levels.

Part of the broader Department for Education-funded TLPD offer, the TLPD Leadership programme played a key role in supporting leaders to mobilise their organisations for the delivery of T Levels as a new qualification. The Leadership programme combined residential workshops, peer learning and support for ongoing community engagement to enable a mindset shift among leaders, turning potential resistance to adoption and fostering a culture of shared problem-solving. In total, 143 participants across 86 institutions – spread between eight cohorts – benefited from the programme.

ETF, King’s Business School and ChangeSchool formed a coalition to deliver the programme, with an expert panel from ETF and its Quality Assurance team to review pedagogy. The design team formed a balanced partnership, integrating insights from ETF, the FE and Skills sector, industry experts, and academia. This collaboration enabled the iterative and adaptive design of the programme, including the introduction of more opportunities for peer-learning over time. There was a 100% satisfaction rate from participants on the programme, with 99% stating that the learning experience would have a positive impact on their professional practice.

Jo Swindells, ETF’s Executive Director of Development and Delivery, said: “The T Level Professional Development Leadership programme has brought together leaders across the Further Education and Skills sector, building their confidence to deliver T Levels and fostering cross-sector collaboration and resilience on a national scale. We are thrilled that EFMD has recognised the programme’s transformative impact with this award.”

Tim Sellick, Director of Custom Programmes, Executive Education, King’s Business School, commented: “We are delighted to be recognised for King’s partnership with ChangeSchool and the Education and Training Foundation. The important work the TLPD programme achieved in driving a tangible movement for change in transforming the ecosystem across further education colleges has created a lasting legacy that, together with this award, all partners can be truly proud of.”
