The Education and Training Foundation (ETF) is proud to sponsor the Role Model award category at the WorldSkills UK Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Heroes awards 2024. These awards shine a light on individuals and organisations working to ensure all young people have the opportunity to succeed through apprenticeships and high-quality technical education.
Nominations for all award categories are open until 15 December 2023. Open to all students, apprentices, employees and employers within the technical education sector, the awards are an opportunity to recognise outstanding commitment to promoting and supporting diverse and inclusive practices, and to celebrate those making a real difference.
The Role Model category will recognise individuals who have taken exceptional steps to drive equity, diversity and inclusion best-practice and who have shown qualities that have encouraged and inspired others. All award winners will be celebrated at a prestigious ceremony at the Houses of Parliament in the week commencing 4 March 2024.
Dr Vikki Smith, Executive Director of Education and Standards at ETF, said: “An inclusive Further Education and Skills sector is one in which all individuals can access high quality learning opportunities so they can flourish and take their best next steps. WorldSkills UK’s EDI Heroes awards celebrate those organisations and individuals who champion inclusion and who help to ensure that all learners have the opportunity to achieve their aspirations. We are delighted to be supporting these awards once again, and we encourage colleagues across the sector to submit their nominations so that we can recognise the hard work and dedication of the sector’s inclusive role models.”
