The deadline for nominations for the 2020 Festival of Learning awards has been extended to 12noon on Wednesday 19 February.
Festival of Learning is the biggest celebration of lifelong learning in England. Led by the Learning and Work Institute and supported by the Department for Education. The campaign has been running since 1992.
The awards celebrate adult learning at its best: the outstanding achievements of adults who have transformed their lives and the lives of others, the employers and learning provision that offer innovative and high quality learning and training opportunities to staff, local communities and disadvantaged individuals, and the tutors that go the extra mile for the benefit of their students.
The four award categories are: individual learner, employer, tutor and project. Within these categories, winners are selected for a range of awards including Social Impact, Return to Learning, English Language Learner and Learning for Work. The Education and Training Foundation is once again supporting the tutor category, which was won by lipreading tutor Fiona Pickett in 2019.
Full details, including guidance notes, top tips for writing a good nomination and the forms themselves can be found on the Festival of Learning website.
