Free webinar series launched to share more information on Further Forces Programme

The University of Portsmouth has created a free webinar series on Thursday 26 July to provide more information and insights for service leavers and FE providers who might be interested in the Further Forces Programme.

In partnership with the ETF and Gatsby Charitable Foundation, the programme will retrain 210 Armed Forces Service Leavers to teach technical subjects, including Science, Engineering and Technology (SET) in the Further Education (FE) and Skills Sector.

The University of Portsmouth will recruit service leavers and link them with suitable employment. The newly employed Service Leavers will then undergo an in-service training programme. Alongside this, the University of Brighton will provide mentoring support to ensure the new teachers are successful in their role.

You can register and be part of the 30 minute webinar at 9am, 1pm or 4pm. It is an opportunity to find out more information and ask questions about the programme. The session is aimed at:

  • MoD personnel/service leavers who are considering teaching as their civilian career
  • Those providing advice and guidance to service personnel engaging in resettlement or careers advice
  • FE colleges interested in employing service leavers
