Places can now be booked for the Further Forces 2020 National Recruitment Conference, which takes place in London on 6 March. The event will welcome potential recruits to the Further Forces programme, FE providers and interested stakeholders.
The day will include a keynote address on the technical teaching landscape and the recruitment of technical teachers; a panel discussion featuring speakers from the Ministry of Defence and the Careers Transition Partnership, service leavers and principals who have employed Further Forces trainees; a Further Forces workshop; and a live recruitment session. Further details, including how to book, are available on the event page on the ETF booking website. It is free to attend.
The event takes place ahead of the end-of-March deadline for new Further Forces applicants to join the programme in time to be fully funded to participate. Any service leaver wishing to do so must have completed their induction and orientation by 31 March 2020 and begun their Initial Teacher Education training by the end of September at the latest. Details of the deadline are available on the ETF website.
Further information about Further Forces, including a video featuring former Royal Engineer Dean Carpenter, who is now a construction lecturer at Basingstoke College of Technology, are available on the Further Forces web page.
