Marcin Lewandowski, SET Fellow and Head of Learning at Action West London, and Geoff Petty, author of Teaching Today, Evidenced Based Teaching, and How To Teach Even Better will be hosting a one-hour webchat on Monday 11 February. It will take place from 8 to 9pm.
Marcin will offer his experience of teaching English for Speakers of Other languages (ESOL) classes, including producing alternatives to Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) and explain how setting goals can be adapted to foster learner autonomy and promote learning outside of the classroom.
Geoff will also be on hand to answer any questions about what the research says about how we should set goals, how a teacher can help learners by using models of good practice, and how to improve their self-assessment skills. Please come armed with questions for our hosts and feel free to add some ahead of the event (to be answered once the event begins).
To take part in the event, you must: join the SET Webchat Facebook Group and click ‘going’ on the webchat event page.
