Booking has opened for four Education and Training Foundation (ETF) online development events for FE College Chairs, governors, and governance professionals taking place in February and March 2024.
On Monday 12 February (4.30pm), Introduction to Audit will be an interactive session led by RSM UK, exploring the audit processes, the audit committee, and the role of a governor.
On Friday 1 March (midday), Introducing Online Safety to FE Governance will provide a broad introduction to online safety and its implications for FE Governors at a whole college level. It will be delivered by Childnet.
On Wednesday 7 March (3.30pm), Peer-to-Peer Online Sexual Harassment; A Governance Perspective will address the issue of peer-on-peer online sexual harassment for FE students and explore ways to tackle it. This second session hosted by Childnet is recommended for Safeguarding Lead Governors.
The final session – What makes an effective audit? – on Monday 11 March (4.30pm), will explore effective practice in leading an audit committee, drawing on real life examples from FE Colleges. This will be the second session to be hosted by RSM UK.
As well as providing networking and development opportunities, the sessions are intended to generate and share innovative and creative thinking that will assist attendees in their roles. They are primarily aimed at FE College Chairs, governors, and governance professionals, but CEOs/Principals are also welcome.
There is no charge to attend, but places must be booked in advance via the ETF booking website.
The events are part of ETF’s wider support for governance. Full details are available on the governance pages of the ETF website.
