Places can now be booked at a series of three Education and Training Foundation (ETF) online development workshops for Governance Professionals in the FE and Training sector.
The events will focus on the development of soft skills, such as influencing and communication, helping Governance Professionals gain the interpersonal skills necessary to be a trusted adviser and authoritative voice in the boardroom. They have been created following research published by The Further Education Trust for Leadership in 2020, which highlighted demand for the development of soft skills from those in governance roles.
The sessions will be led by expert career coach, motivational speaker and best-selling author Kay White.
The first, Position & Own the Value of Your Governance Role, will take place on 23 September. It will help participants better articulate what they contribute to their organisation, looking at the general principles of communicating value and encapsulating the value of specific personal contributions.
On 25 November, the second session, Communicate with Impact & Influence, naturally, will focus on understanding and further developing soft skills, including key phrases, persuasion, questioning, and resilience in conversational conflict.
The third session, Collaboration, Commerciality, Communication & You, will concentrate on the practical application of your governance skills. It will be held on 20 January 2022.
The sessions run from 2pm to 3.30pm on the dates stated and there is no charge to attend. For more information about, and to book for, any of them, visit the ETF booking site.
