Attendees at the Bett show 2020 will have the opportunity to hear first-hand from some of the participants in the Education and Training Foundation’s (ETF’s) Outstanding Teaching, Learning and Assessment (OTLA) project testing Student-Staff partnership approaches to harnessing students’ digital capabilities to support teaching, learning and assessment.
The Harness students’ digital capabilities to support teaching, learning and assessment session will take place in the Teaching & Learning Zone in the North Hall of Excel on Thursday 23 January from 12:00–12:40. It is aimed at Educators and Heads of Teaching and Learning, IT, Quality Improvement and Curriculum in the FE and Training sector.
The session will provide an insight into how to roll out similar schemes, and the project toolkit – which offers a step-by-step guide to creating staff-student partnerships for use by providers – will be shared.
The toolkit was launched in August 2019 and is available via the ETF website. It includes downloadable models and approaches, case studies, examples and tools. It was developed from pilots led by Basingstoke College of Technology, Bishop Auckland College, City Lit and Heart of Worcestershire College. The pilots were considered a success by staff and students alike, with feedback showing both a higher awareness of learning technologies amongst the teachers and how these might be used to enhance learning, as well as increased confidence and engagement amongst the learners.
The Bett show takes place at London’s Excel venue from 22–25 January 2020.
