New resources for volunteers, teachers and trainers supporting pre-Entry level ESOL learners are now available on the ETF’s ESOL Excellence Gateway website. The materials have been co-created with the sector and our partners Learning and Work Institute and Learning Unlimited.
On the Gateway you will find a short research report to outline the challenges, effective practice guidelines with top tips and key knowledge, and a suite of teaching and learning materials including time saving templates and a video. We have also developed an easy-to-use screening tool for non-specialists.
Imke Djouadj, Head of Programmes: Maths & English, ETF, said:
“We are delighted with the resources developed under the New to ESOL initiative funded jointly by the Department for Education and the Home Office. The teaching and learning materials are brand new, innovative and respond to the widely recognised need for more resources to support practitioners working with learners at pre-Entry level. We’ve had very positive early reactions from volunteers and teachers and are keen to receive further feedback, so please let us know what you think.”
