The line-up for the third national conference from the Society for Education and Training (SET), has been announced. The conference from the professional membership body for those working across further education, vocational teaching and training, on 4 November 2020, will be held online for the first time under the theme Learning for Today and Tomorrow.
Hosted by TES Columnist and #UKFEchat host Sarah Simons, SET Conference 2020 aims to provide Continuous Professional Development (CPD) support and practical guidance for the Further Education (FE) and Training sector’s teachers, trainers and educators.
SET Conference 2020 will be filled with digital breakouts, high profile keynote speakers, and the opportunity to connect with speakers and delegates through live Q&As – all from the comfort of your home or workplace. Confirmed keynote speakers include:
The digital breakout sessions based on the theme of the day, Learning for Today and Tomorrow, will allow for more detailed discussion and learning on a range of pedagogical fields. Breakouts will cover the following topics:
Last year more than 300 professionals from across the sector came to the SET conference held in Birmingham. Due to current circumstances, this year’s conference will be completely online, with sessions accessible on demand after the event for those who can’t attend live to catch up. With the move online for 2020, SET anticipate at least as many delegates joining the virtual event on the day.
Martin Reid, Director of SET and Professional Status at the ETF, said:
“Everyone at the ETF is excited and proud to virtually host SET Conference 2020. Even though at the start of this year we were expecting to host our event in person, our third conference is shaping up to be at the same high standards even with the change of format.
“The conference agenda, under the theme of Learning for Today and Tomorrow, has been shaped by our members, including feedback on our previous events. The day will celebrate professionals from across our sector, showcase inspirational work, and promote the FE workforce’s valuable contribution to society. We are confident delegates will be benefit from updates on key topics affecting post-14 education and practical takeaways from the talks and breakout sessions.
“It is a shame we won’t be together in person but we look forward to seeing you virtually on 4 November.”
