National Apprenticeship Week 2021

National Apprenticeship Week 2021 takes place from Monday 8 to Sunday 14 February. The fourteenth annual week-long celebration of apprenticeships will shine a light on the amazing work done by employers and apprentices across the country.

Bringing together apprenticeship ambassadors, MPs, training providers, apprentices, parents and employers, National Apprenticeship Week highlights the work being done across the whole apprenticeship community to promote apprenticeships and their impact. Employers are encouraged to promote the great work of their apprentices, whilst highlighting the many benefits apprenticeships bring to their business. Apprentices, at all stages of their learning, will also be celebrated.

Providers can get involved in ways including:

  • Tagging @apprenticeships and using the hashtags #NAW2021 and #BuildTheFuture in Twitter posts about the work they are doing
  • Encouraging apprentices – past and current – to take part in the #AskAnApprentice event on Twitter. It takes place on Wednesday 10 February from 12 noon to 2pm.
  • On Valentine’s Day, posting about what makes apprenticeships and National Apprenticeship Week great using @apprenticeships and #NAW2021 in posts.

David Russell, Chief Executive of the Education and Training Foundation, has shared a video expressing the ETF’s support for the week and explaining why apprenticeships are so important.

Details of the ETF’s Apprenticeships Workforce Development offer for those delivering apprenticeships – including two new modules released on the eve of National Apprenticeship Week – are available on the ETF website. The online courses are fully funded by the Department for Education.
