In March 2022, Teresa Carroll, National Head for Inclusion at the Education and Training Foundation (ETF), will be speaking at two virtual events that aim to support employers in diversifying their workforce by employing young people with SEND.
Free to attend and open to all educators and employers, the events have been organised by London South East Colleges, an award-winning further education college that has supported learners with SEND and employers for 25 years.
Teresa Carroll says:
“Speaking at these events is crucial in the ETF’s work to raise awareness of the benefits of working with learners with SEND.
“We want to see more learners with SEND being able to access and sustain employment. By providing expert insight from employers, learners and college experts, the ETF hopes to increase engagement and awareness – and ultimately improve life outcomes for people with SEND.”
Teresa Carroll will be joined by London South East Colleges and guest speakers from the Creative Arts Industry and the Sports and Leisure industry to showcase why and how employers from within these industries can benefit from employing a young person with learning disabilities.
As well as exploring the true value of diversifying a workforce, attendees can also expect practical tools and resources , including practical advice from employers on how to make the workplace more inclusive, how to build partnerships with colleges, and how this benefits the whole workforce.
If you are an educator or employer interested in supporting and employing learners with SEND, join Teresa and London South East Colleges in these two events:
