New resources for ESOL practitioners who are working with learners new to ESOL literacy and learning are to be launched at events in London and Manchester at the end of May (2019).
The resources will include a suite of teaching and learning materials, an effective practice guide, a screening tool and learner profiles. They are intended for use in a range of ESOL settings, including with refugee learners. The resources have been developed as part of an Education and Training Foundation commissioned project, delivered by Learning and Work Institute and Learning Unlimited.
The events – in London on Tuesday 21 May and Manchester on Friday 24 May – are aimed at practitioners and volunteers working with ESOL learners at pre-entry level. As well as launching the new resources, the events will include updates on ESOL policy and provide hands-on workshops.
Places at the events are free and should be booked in advance via the Learning and Work Institute website.
