New Shaping Success Collaborative Practice Development events

New Collaborative Practice Development events addressing key issues facing maths and English tutors – assessing progress online and motivating learners to engage with online learning – will take place in December.

The Assessing Learning Online event will take place on 2 December, from 10am to 4pm. It will help practitioners to:

  • Formatively assess learners’ progress online
  • Enable individual and groups of learners to monitor their own progress
  • Plan and implement a sequence of learning that includes assessing the impact of learning
  • Capture evidence of impact using a range of online platforms/tools.

The Engaging and Motivation Online event is on 16 December and will also run from 10am to 4pm. It will help practitioners to:

  • Give learners the confidence to actively engage with online learning
  • Understand how learners feel about English and maths and how this should impact on planning lessons
  • Plan learner-centred approaches that grow and develop online learning communities
  • Plan authentic activities that engage and motivate learners and develop their resilience
  • Use coaching and resilience strategies that encourage learners to engage.

Both days will include workshops with input from classroom practitioners who will share approaches they have found work which are grounded in research. Details are available on the ETF Booking System. The events have been developed on behalf of the ETF by ccConsultancy.

You can find out more by contacting your ETF Regional Specialist Lead, who will be sharing tasters for the sessions.
