This enquiry will contribute to the final Doctorate in Education thesis of FE teacher and Kingston University Doctoral research student, Anita McGowan MBE. In undertaking this research Anita is looking to enlist six volunteer FE teachers.
Purpose of the study
Anita McGowan MBE, says:
“There is no prerequisite of having any particular qualification(s) to be a participant only a requirement of working as a FE teacher. Participants will be chosen on a random basis and contacted as to whether or not they have been chosen to participate in this voluntary activity.
“This research comes from my desire, as a FE teacher, to establish how such an identity is influenced through the work that is undertaken within an FE environment.”
Those selected will be expected to have gained experiences within this specific environment to provide a perspective as to the nature of the role of the FE teacher.
“I am particularly interested in your teaching biography and how you became a FE teacher working in such a specific environment whilst examining your experiences of working as a FE teacher.”
If you would like further details on being involved in this research, please download the Participation Information Sheet (PIS) which provides answers to a number of frequently asked research questions (FAQs) that may help in your decision to participate.
If you feel that this may be an area of interest to you and one in which you may be able to offer a contribution to, such an exciting new area of education research, please email Anita at K0853626@kingston.ac.uk.
