Strategic Alignment network events for middle leaders

Two Education and Training Foundation (ETF) Strategic Alignment network events for middle leaders in the Further Education (FE) and Skills sector have been announced for March.

The first, Strategic Alignment – A new kind of network for middle leaders and managers in FE, will take place on Wednesday 6 March. Hosted by Dr Lou Mycroft, Joss Kang and Dr Lynne Taylerson, this immersive online event will take a fresh approach to professional development: community-led professional learning.

Building on the understanding that sustainable change comes about when short-term projects are scaffolded by long-term changemaking, and research that shows long-term changemaking can only happen in community, this network event will begin by highlighting the latest research findings around sustainable adaptive leadership and provide opportunities to create community with peers around a range of research-based activities. The second half will be expert-led CPD exploring one of the big issues facing FE; Artificial Intelligence in the workplace, and how to lever big issues to scaffold long-term thinking.

It will be held online (on Zoom) in a choice of two time slots, 9.30am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 4.30pm, with each limited to 15 participants. Place can be booked via the ETF booking website.

The second event, Strategic Alignment – A network for finance leaders and managers in FE, will take online on Wednesday 20 March (9.30am to 12pm). It will be hosted by Dr Lou Mycroft and Joss Kang, and Michaela Greaves and .and Thomas Kidsley of Chesterfield College.

The day will explore the latest leadership research, using live case studies, including how Chesterfield College’s integration of curriculum and business support colleagues into decision-making. The session will include activities focused on building on building a high-performing finance team, developing trust, and supporting colleagues to share commercial insights with curriculum teams.

Places at the event can be booked via the ETF booking website.

Both events are fully subsidised. They will be delivered on behalf of the ETF by touchconsulting Ltd. They are part of a wider offer of support for middle leaders in the FE and Skills sector provided by the ETF. For details, visit the ETF website.
