The ETF at the AoC SEND Conference

On Tuesday 10 December the Education and Training Foundation (ETF) is supporting the Association of Colleges (AoC) SEND Conference in London.

Attendees will be able to hear all about the ETF’s national Centres for Excellence in SEND programme, the innovative work that the Centres are doing and how they can support your organisation. There is also the opportunity to talk to staff members at ETF’s exhibition stand (Stand 5).

Each of the ETF’s three Centres for Excellence in SEND is facilitating a breakout session at the event:

  • Weston College – 1.1 A transformational approach to mental well-being and SEND
  • Derby College – 1.3 Study Programme flexibilities – creating a personalised curriculum for SEND
  • City College Norwich – 2.1 Helping SEND young people have the best opportunities to fulfil their career aspirations.

All three colleges are additionally facilitating the Student Session at 14:30 where students share how their experience at college has impacted on them and made a real difference in their lives.

Dr Paul Phillips, lead of one of the three Centres and Principal and Chief Executive of Weston College, will deliver a keynote speech focused on the transformation of a college to an organisation where SEND drives change in management and culture.

This is the one time of the year for SEND professionals in Further Education (FE) to get together nationally and share experiences with both new and established colleagues. The conference aims to give delegates different ideas and approaches to take back to their organisation.
