Applications are now open for the second wave of Teacher Regional Improvement Projects (TRIPs). Submissions should be received no later than 12pm, 11 October 2019.
TRIPs are undertaken as part of the T Level Professional Development (TLPD) offer and projects should aim to improve teaching practice in preparation for T Levels. Outcomes should ultimately ensure that learners undertaking T Levels develop the knowledge, skills, behaviours and competencies required, and understand how they are applied in the occupation they want to progress into.
The Teacher Regional Improvement Projects (TRIPs) will be managed via three T Level Knowledge Hubs:
Any questions related to the application process should be submitted to the Knowledge Hub lead in your area, using the email address provided above.
Guidance to applicants
The round 2 invitation to submit a TRIP application is for the remaining 19 projects, which can be delivered on a national or regional level and will be allocated to and managed by the appropriate Knowledge Hub.
Organisations who are interested in being involved in a TRIP are invited to attend face-to-face or online launch events where guidance will be given on completing an application, sourcing project partners and information about the wider T Level Professional Development (TLPD) offer. To book your place please visit the relevant page for your region:
Existing project themes
In June 2019, 31 projects were awarded funding across the three Knowledge Hubs regions. The themes and summaries of these can be found here, so potential applicants are able to see the organisations involved and the kind of work already being undertaken. Feel free to make contact with the Knowledge Hub Leads who will put you in contact with colleagues at these providers who will be able to answer questions you have about their project.
£45,000 will be awarded to a total of 50 collaborative TRIPs across England. As 31 projects were awarded in the first application wave, there are 19 possible TRIPs available in this round. Each TRIP must involve a minimum of four organisations, one of which must be a 2020 T Level provider. One organisation must be appointed as the project lead. A provider cannot be a lead on more than one TRIP.
£25,000 of this funding will be allocated for TRIP participants to access remission funding to allow them to participate in the wider T Level Professional Development offer. Further information on available CPD can be found on the ETF website. Only providers who participate in TRIPs will be eligible to access remission funds.
