World Teachers’ Day – share why you are #ProudToTeach

Saturday 5 October is World Teachers’ Day 2019 and the Education and Training Foundation (ETF) is encouraging colleagues across the Further Education and Training sector to be part of the celebrations.

The ETF is getting behind the Department for Education’s (DfE’s) #ProudToTeach hashtag and we encourage you to share your stories, pictures and videos across social media using it from Friday 4 October to Monday 7 October.

We know that the sector has countless inspirational stories to tell. A small number are featured in two ETF-produced videos hosted on the Support for Teacher Recruitment page of our website.

Whether it’s the lightbulb moments you experience with learners, the lives you change, or the knowledge and skills you pass on to the next generation, this is an opportunity to spread the word about the exceptional things that teachers achieve with their learners in the sector every day. We look forward to seeing you share your stories.

Facebook users can also show their support for the event with a profile photo frame created by DfE.

World Teachers’ Day has been held annually on 5 October since 1994. The 2019 event will be marked by a celebration in Paris on 7 October.
