#APConnect Live 2020

Blog by Joss Kang, Managing Director of touchconsulting LTD.

The touchconsulting Ltd team had been gearing up all year to deliver the second National Advanced Practitioner Conference in Birmingham on behalf of the Education and Training Foundation (ETF). On March 27 we were expecting 125 delegates with practitioners operating in Advanced Practitioner (AP) type roles presenting their impact stories from Year 2 of the #APConnect project. #APConnect has established APs as the engine-room of change in FE.

Events overtook us, but the team were determined to recreate safe (virtual) spaces for the AP community to come together, celebrate, appreciate and reflect on the culture-changing work they’d been driving over the past year. So #APConnect Live was born – a virtual conference across a range of publicly available social media. The touchconsulting Ltd team, supported by the ETF, were agile, courageous and community-focused, facilitating a much-needed togetherness at the end of that first week of school and college closures, working from home and social isolation.

Although the live events have taken place, it’s not too late to join in. Browse the #APConnect Live landing page and watch the welcome video which will help you navigate what’s on offer for you to take advantage of.

Follow this Padlet link to see more of what’s been happening over the year and visit the #APConnect Live Film Festival over on YouTube, where you will find recordings of the Zoom Room broadcasts which were live on the day as well as recordings from last year’s 2019 face-to-face conference.

We encourage everyone to browse the wonderful AP toolkit of resources and strategies housed on the Excellence Gateway. These can be used from wherever you need them –  be it your workplace desk or your kitchen table or sofa at home!
