Apprenticeship Leadership

This strand of the Apprenticeship Workforce Development (AWD) offer will develop leadership and management skills for change management required to effectively deliver apprenticeships.

This strand is split into two interlinked courses:

  • Developing Your Team
  • Effective Use of Resources

Who is it useful for?

Operational leaders managing delivery of the apprenticeship offer within a provider.

Developing Your Team

This course covers:

  • Recruitment and Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG)
  • Setting expectations with employers, staff and learners
  • Implementing new curriculum and effective planning for delivery, including responsibilities for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) learners
  • Effective staff development
  • Effective use of support staff.

Course delivery: Online course (AWD07): Developing Your Team

Recommended 6 hours of self-guided learning.

Effective Use of Resources

This course covers:

  • Developing and utilising resources
  • Effective delivery models
  • Uses of technology for education improvement
  • Understanding and working with Labour Market Information (LMI) and other sources of key data
  • Understanding the apprenticeship review process
  • Inspection readiness and expectations of legislation, e.g., H&S, safeguarding, Prevent.

Course delivery: Online course (AWD08): Effective Use of Resources

Recommended 6 hours of self-guided learning.
