Short courses

As part of our support for the professional development for mentors and coaches of practitioners in Further Education and Training, ETF will be offering four short online courses for mentors, mentoring coordinators, mentees, and leaders. 

We are currently putting together the course schedule for 2022-23. Please do check back for updates. You can also express an interest in ETF’s mentoring activities through this short survey.

Getting ready to mentor teachers and trainers in Further Education – this course is aimed at staff in the FE sector interested in finding out about mentoring. This could include teachers who have trained previously in mentoring and want a refresher and teachers who may wish to progress on to our other mentoring programmes.  

How to coordinate mentoring and coaching programmes effectively in Further Education – this course is for anyone who coordinates or has responsibility for a mentoring/coaching scheme. The course will teach you a range of effective practices for coordinating mentoring programmes in the FE sector, such as recruiting and matching mentors and mentees and evaluating mentoring programmes.   

How to be an effective mentee in Further Education: a course for practitioners – this course is for practitioners who work with or are going to work with a mentor/coach to develop your teaching. The course will teach you how to be an effective mentee and how to get the most out of your mentoring/coaching relationship.  

How to lead effective mentoring and coaching schemes for practitioners in Further Education – this course is for anyone who leads or manages and has responsibility for a mentoring/coaching scheme. The course will teach you what you need to know and the actions you need to take to lead or manage a high-quality mentoring/coaching programme for practitioners in the FE sector.
