ETF Safeguarding training for FE

Safeguarding in FE

ETF has revised and updated the Safeguarding in FE and Training course in 2021. The new look and revised content have been developed in consultation with the profession, both through the early stages of its development and in pilots.

The key updates are:

  • All guidance updated to be in alignment with KCSiE rev 2020 and the revisions in the Working Together to Safeguarding Children rev 2020/1.
  • Stronger links between Safeguarding and our refreshed Prevent e-modules to help colleagues fully understand the links needed to engage with Prevent.
  • A new section on digital safety, which we have built to be easy to understand, even if you are not IT literate.

The course is delivered on a new platform, FutureLearn. You will receive a certificate on completion of this online course. To access this resource, please visit FutureLearn.

The Safeguarding in FE course contains four modules, including a new and additional module on Digital Safety, and an assessment at the end. It does not contain information about safer recruitment. If recruitment issues are relevant to your role, please access the course Safer recruitment in FE below.

New module: Digital Safety

A new ‘Digital Safety’ module is now available, aimed at those who are responsible for digital safeguarding. The course runs for 3 weeks.
