Professor Ewart Keep is an emeritus professor in Education, Training and Skills at the Department of Education, Oxford University. He was one of the founders, and is now the associate director, of the Centre on Skills, Knowledge and Organisational Performance (SKOPE). He worked for over 20 years in Warwick Business School, and then at the School of Social Sciences at Cardiff University. He has published on lifelong learning, reform in FE, apprenticeship, managerial attitudes towards investment in skills, and skills policy formation; and has acted as an advisor to the National Audit Office, H M Treasury, DTI, DBIS, DfES, the Cabinet Office, the UK Commission for Employment and Skills, the Government Office for Science (Foresight), and parliamentary committees at Westminster and Holyrood. He is currently a member of the board of the Scottish Funding Council, and of the Scottish Government’s Strategic Labour Market Group, Oxfordshire LEP’s Skills Board, and HEFCW’s Student Opportunity and Achievement Committee.
