Strategic Leadership and Governance

To support Leaders and Governors involved in apprenticeship delivery, a CPD programme, fully-funded by the Department for Education, has launched as part of the ETF’s Apprenticeship Workforce Development (AWD) programme.

The Strategic Leadership and Governance offer has been created with Association of Employment and Learning Providers (AELP) and the Association of Colleges (AoC) to enable Leaders and Governors to develop:

  • knowledge of apprenticeships
  • confidence in their roles within apprenticeships
  • effective leadership skills needed to support apprenticeship delivery.

Following the success of the first round of the Strategic Leadership and Governance in Apprenticeships programme, we are gathering Expressions of Interest from Leaders and Governors who would like to attend a repeat of the courses.

This CPD offer is made up of a series of three module based online interactive workshops (3 hours each):

  1. Effective Governance of Apprenticeships (October)
  2. Strategic drivers for planning your apprenticeship provision (November)
  3. Partnership, Collaboration and Competition (December)

These will be delivered in October, November, and December 2021 (one per month) with attendees expected to join all three sessions. The modules will be delivered by AELP and AoC with facilitators Anna Morrison CBE, Director of Amazing Apprenticeships and Chris Lang, Owner/Director or Waterbeach Associates Limited, and will include input and talks from industry experts.

Places on the programme are limited therefore it would be advisable to complete and return the expression of interest form as soon as possible, but no later than Friday 10 September.

The Strategic Leadership and Governance element of the AWD complements the programme’s eight courses which provides trainers and leaders with the teaching skills, subject knowledge and confidence needed to deliver successful apprenticeships for the benefit of learners.
