11 June 2020: 2022 T Level providers announced
A list of providers who have been selected to deliver T Levels from the 2022 to 2023 academic year has been published by the Department for Education.
26 May 2020: Input to City & Guilds’ development of 2021 Construction route technical qualifications
City & Guilds, in collaboration with EAL, are currently developing the technical qualifications within the Construction T Level route for September 2021 delivery. They are looking for employers and representatives from industry, as well as provider staff, to review elements of the draft technical qualifications and then answer some questions relating to key themes. 12 May 2020: Virtual Networks for 2020 providers
A series of virtual subject-specific network events, which gives participants the opportunity to discuss challenges, jointly develop innovative delivery solutions, and share practice for each of the first 3 T Levels, have commenced today and will run in May and June 2020.
11 May 2020: Organisational Training Needs Analysis for 2021 providers begins
The ETF has this week begun to facilitate Organisational Training Needs Analyses (OTNA) with each 2021 provider. The OTNA will help the wave 2 providers to identify any gaps in organisational knowledge around T Levels and result in a bespoke development plan to inform and support staff development planning to aid the successful implementation of T Levels.
7 February 2020: Department for Education announces significant new contract for continuation of T Level Professional Development
The Education and Training Foundation has been awarded a multi-year contract to continue to deliver TLPD.
In-house CPD for middle managers helping preparation for T Levels
In-house CPD for middle managers – provided as part of the ETF’s T Level Professional Development offer – is having a positive impact on preparations for the introduction of the new courses, with participants coming away with a range of specific actions they need to take.
TLPD helping governors, trustees and governance professionals support T Levels introduction
The ETF’s T Level Professional Development (TLPD) offer is helping governors, trustees and governance professionals play their part in the introduction of the new courses by helping them explore the implications of the delivery of the new courses and enhancing their ability to support senior leaders’ decision making. Expression of interest to deliver T Levels from the 2022 to 2023 academic year launched
The expression of interest to deliver T Levels from the 2022 to 2023 academic year was launched on 9 January 2020 and includes 8 new T Levels. The deadline to express an interest is midnight on 28 February 2020. Details are available at GOV.UK.
Understanding T Levels sessions receive positive feedback
The value of the ETF’s T Level Professional Development sessions to those who will implement and deliver T Levels has been confirmed by feedback from participants. Read more about the sessions’ value and book for a forthcoming date.
Value of Subject Teacher Training and Subject Knowledge workshops recognised
Subject Teacher Training and Subject Knowledge workshops that provide practitioners with an insight into new or challenging subject topics in the T Level outline syllabuses have received a positive reception from attendees. Further online sessions are scheduled for February and March.
2021 Construction T Levels contracts awarded
City and Guilds, in collaboration with Excellence Achievement and Learning, has the contract for two of the Construction T Levels – Building Services Engineering and Onsite Construction – that will be delivered from September 2021 onwards. Details of their support are available on the City and Guilds website.
Pearson awarded contracts for 2020 Digital and Construction T Levels
Pearson has the contracts for the T Levels in Digital: Digital Production, Design and Development; and Construction: Design, Surveying and Planning, that will be delivered from 2020. Details of the support they are offering can be found on the Pearson website.
NCFE to deliver six T Levels
NCFE has been awarded the contracts for six of the first nine T Levels. As well as the Education and Childcare T Level that will be available from September 2020, it will also deliver five of the T Levels that will begin in 2021: Digital Business Services, Digital Support Services, Health, Healthcare Science, and Science. Details of their support can be found on the NCFE website.

The employer-led workshops currently taking place have won praise from participants and the employers hosting them alike.
Reminder to claim your remission funding for T Level Professional Development CPD
Colleagues working for organisations who are involved in Teacher Regional Improvement Projects (TRIPs) are reminded that they are eligible to claim remission funding when they participate in any TLPD activities.
A number of employer-led workshops hosted by industry experts are now available to book.
T Level Professional Development Conference open for booking
A T Level Professional Development conference is taking place in Exeter on 9 December, where attendees will gain valuable, practical teaching and curriculum planning tips to support T Level delivery.
General Competency Frameworks published
The general competency frameworks for T Levels have been published by the Institute for Apprenticeships as part of the T Level panel guidance.
T Levels ‘NexT Level’ campaign launches
The Department for Education has launched the ‘NexT Level’ campaign to ensure that young people have the information they need to apply for the first of the pioneering T Levels starting in September 2020.
T Level Action Plan 2019
The Department for Education published a new edition of its T Level Action Plan on Monday 7 October (2019).

A handy reference guide indicating the best starting place for T Level Professional Development depending on your role is available to view.
Industry Insights placements updates
A diversity of placements at a range of employers are taking place across England as part of the Industry Insight offer.
TLPD events calendar launched
A calendar specifically for booking events, courses and webinars related to the T Level Professional Development (TLPD) offer has launched.
Updated information on T Level grading and UCAS tariff points
The Department for Education and UCAS have released the grading and certification and tariff points information for T Levels.
Application window open for second wave of Teacher Regional Improvement Projects
Applications are now open for submissions for the remaining 19 TRIP projects. Submissions should be received no later than 12pm, 11 October 2019.
Assessment for T Levels sessions coming soon
New sessions focussing on formative and summative assessment will shortly be available via your Regional Knowledge Hub.

Launch events for those wishing to find out more about applying for the second wave of Teacher Regional Improvement Projects (TRIPs) have been announced.

2021 T Level providers announced
The Department for Education has confirmed further details of the roll out of T levels from 2020 and the identities of the second wave of providers who will deliver the courses from 2021.
Applications for TLPD Industry Insight Placements open
Applications for the TLPD Industry Insight Placements opened on 12 June 2019. Applications are being accepted for 175 placements and it is intended that they will take place across all regions of England.
TLPD self-assessment tools now available
Self-assessment tools to help organisations and individuals who will deliver T Levels assess their readiness are now available on the ETF’s Foundation Online Learning website.
Top Tips guides and subject-specialist videos now available
Top Tips guides focused on recent innovations in teaching practice and a suite of videos featuring subject specialist teachers talking about tricky-to-teach areas of the curriculum are now available as part of the T Level Professional Development offer.
More support to help employers offer T Level Industry Placements
The Department for Education has announced more support for T Level Industry Placements. It includes guidance for employers and providers, a new pilot scheme and ‘how to’ guides and workshops.
Evaluation of T Level Industry Placement Pilot: route reports
A report evaluating the pilot T Level Industry Placements has been published by the Department for Education. The report considers the success of different pilots and support and highlights lessons for the national roll-out.
