Understanding T Levels

This programme will support anyone delivering T Levels or advising learners about their Further Education options. The courses will develop participants’ understanding of T Levels so they can prepare for T Level delivery, as well as how to provide learners with high-quality information, advice and guidance. The programme is also suitable for careers advisers and individuals who will be providing support for learner progression to higher levels of technical study and employment.

The programme provides:

  • online modules and face-to-face courses to support individuals to develop an understanding of T Levels and why they will be one of the main choices for post-16 learners
  • guidance on how to advise students (including learners with special educational needs and disabilities) about their options
  • information for teachers and support staff in schools who will be providing impartial advice and guidance for young people to help them make informed choices in order to realise their full potential.

The Understanding T Levels courses will be delivered in a flexible and blended model – online, virtual and face-to-face – with separate courses to address the professional development needs of people in different roles:

Frontline delivery staff

This course is suitable for:

  • practitioners working directly with learners in the delivery and assessment of T Levels, including staff in school sixth forms
  • technical education teachers in Further Education and other settings
  • those with limited knowledge of T Levels, as well as those who may have completed some initial online training in relation to T Levels.

The course will be delivered through a mixture of online modules, virtual learning, and one-day face-to-face courses at a provider or regional venue.

This course will help you to:

  • support the successful introduction of T Levels
  • develop schemes of learning, learning activities and formative assessment tools
  • know where to access further resources and support.

Leaders, Governance Professionals and Stakeholders

This course is suitable for:

  • senior leaders, governance professionals and stakeholders who are working in or with providers intending to deliver T Levels.
  • senior leaders, governance professionals and stakeholders in non-T Level providers who have learners likely to progress onto T Levels.
  • those with limited knowledge of T Levels, as well as those who may have completed some initial online training in relation to T Levels.

This course will be delivered through a mixture of online modules, virtual learning, and one- day face-to-face courses at a provider or regional venue.

This course will help you to:

  • know the features of T Level programmes
  • support the successful introduction of T Levels
  • know where to access further resources and support.

Support staff

This course is suitable for:

  • support staff* who are working in or with providers intending to deliver T Levels
  • Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) practitioners in non-T Level providers who will be providing advice in relation to T Level progression
  • those with limited knowledge of T Levels, as well as those who may have completed some initial online training in relation to T Levels.

*This includes careers and IAG staff, business support, learning support, student support and student services.

This course will be delivered through a mixture of online modules, virtual learning, and one-day face-to-face courses at a provider or regional venue.

This course will help you to:

  • know the features of T Level programmes
  • support the successful introduction of T Levels
  • know where to access further resources and support.
