Ongoing professional development needs analysis

This strand of the offer helps to build a clear understanding of professional development needs. It is an ongoing process that seeks to learn from the excellent professional practice that already exists and inform the further development of the offer.

There are two parts of this strand:

  1. The first is led by a team of Professional Development Advisers (PDAs). The PDAs visit the organisations and institutions who are confirmed to deliver the first T Levels on a termly basis, advising them and gathering feedback that informs the development of Professional Development Plans.
  2. The second consists of two self-assessment tools; one for provider organisations to complete and the other for practitioners. These tools will help providers consider what is ahead, identify priorities, and plan for the introduction of T Levels. They have been developed for the ETF by the Strategic Development Network and Tintisha.

The organisational self-assessment has two parts:

An organisation-wide section (Part A)

We recommend an individual representative with an overview of the organisation provides feedback for the organisation-wide section.

A route-specific section (Part B)

We recommend a relevant department head or curriculum manager for the specific technical area/s completes the route specific section.

The questions allow you to self-rate your current level of understanding, ability, confidence and readiness to support T Levels.

These tools are available for everyone, regardless of whether they are confirmed to become T Level providers, via the Foundation Online Learning site. Please note that you will need to be logged in to access this content.
