As the national workforce development body for the Further Education and Training Sector, we will be developing a suite of high quality professional development offers to support the teachers, trainers and leaders who will be delivering T Levels in 2020 and beyond.
We will bring to this role our experience, our expertise and our commitment to working in partnership with the sector. There are many examples of providers who deliver outstanding technical education and we want to use their expertise and that of employers, professional bodies, T Level panels and others in the design of the T Level Professional Development offer.
The aim of the offer is to ensure that further education and post-16 providers in the first two tranches are T Level-ready, as well as supporting those wanting to deliver them later. This means ensuring that teachers and trainers have the teaching skills, subject knowledge and confidence needed to deliver a high quality T Level programme from the outset.
The flexible offer will be shaped around the needs of providers and their workforce alongside relevant regional, employer and curriculum needs. This will be part of an ongoing needs analysis with initial providers, starting in the coming months.
While the full content of the offer is still being developed, its five key strands are:
We will have dedicated online resources and information on T Levels which will be available through the ETF website.
