Job Description

The Education and Training Foundation (ETF) helps ensure that the Further Education and Training sector develops world class leaders, teachers and trainers. We work across the whole FE sector and are funded by Government grant, commercial contracts, professional membership (The Society for Education and Trainng – SET) and accreditation fees and a variety of other business activities.

We are now looking to appoint a Performance Manager, whose role will be to achieve high performance levels and meet grant and contract expectations by managing, monitoring and capacity building subcontractors, enabling them to achieve contractual, financial and performance targets.

The role will report into the National Head of Performance Management and will be responsible for leading performance management of significant contracts with suppliers. This will include:

  • Leading monthly performance review meetings with subcontractors.
  • Supporting financial monitoring and management, quality assurance and compliance activity, working with other teams across ETF.
  • Contributing to wider aspects of programme management.
  • Building and maintaining effective relationships with programme commissioners.

The role will work closely with other teams across ETF to ensure that there is a strong tie up between the work of the Performance Management team and design and policy work.

The successful candidates will:

  • Be educated to Educated to level 6/degree level or equivalent
  • Able to manage and drive performance improvement in grant or contract activity through subcontractors/partners
  • Experience of performance and/ or contract management frameworks
  • An ability to handle multiple priorities and projects for on time on budget delivery of the highest quality
  • Ability to work with a wide range of external stakeholders to meet programmes delivery expectations
  • Experience of business planning, budget preparation, budget management.
  • Highly self-motivated and proactive, with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills
  • The ability to assess performance and progress using both quantitative and qualitative information
  • Have experience working in a fast-pace environment with changing priorities
